Out of Control Page 14

She let out a soft gasp and cupped my face. “No, you’re wrong. I do need you.” She let me see the truth in her words, then sank forward to kiss me again.

My heart pounded, expanded, and then exploded in my chest, and I devoured those soft lips of hers, knowing what it had taken for her to say those words. How vulnerable they made her. And me. I wouldn’t abuse the trust she had just handed me.

She pulled back, dragging me into the gray depths of her eyes.

“I wasn’t sure if you would want to see me,” she said softly. “I thought I’d fucked things up.”

I kissed her chin. “No, I was on my way home to see you,” I admitted, finally allowing myself to relax a little. I had her now. I wasn’t letting her go anytime soon.

She bit her lip. “I wanted to tell you. I’ve been working on a new app I thought you might like.” She leaned into my shoulder. “It was inspired by you.”

I tipped my head. “You really want to do this now? Because I can think of other things…”

But I could tell she was excited, and that did all kinds of things to me.

She pulled out her phone and waved it in my face. “Boredom-busters for the bedroom.” She grinned. “It picks the place, pace, and position.”

I laughed and took a quick look at the app. The bones of it looked solid, but that wasn’t what I had my mind on right now. “Looks interesting…although I can’t see us needing it.” I pulled her back to me, fastening my fingers in her hair so she was forced to meet my gaze. “Not until we’re married and old.”

“Married?” she squeaked, her eyes flying wide.

“Uh-huh.” I cupped her face, searching her eyes with mine. I’d fallen deep, too deep to climb back out even if I wanted to. Which I didn’t. I wouldn’t underestimate her again. She knew what she wanted.

  So did I.

I kissed away her protests. “I love you,” I said. “I don’t care what you do, as long as I can be a part of it.”

She grinned and rubbed her nose against mine. “I love you, too.”

  “I know.”

It had all been part of my plan.

And I always got what I wanted.
